Details have also been released about the band’s self-titled debut album, which will be released in the US on June 7th and the UK on June 8th. In a bid to encourage fans to actually buy the album and not just download, or *gasp* illegally download it, “Chickenfoot” will include heat-sensitive packaging.
No, not intended as a waterbottle replacement, instead if you put your hand (or any other body part for that matter) onto the cover it will display album artwork- as if by magic. See? This is the sort of creativity that sells albums.
Speaking about the accidental formation of the supergroup, Joe Satriani said: “After just a few songs, it became stunningly obvious that we shared an overall musical agenda. The only question was could we make a great album?”
I guess you’ll all have to wait until June to answer that, in the meantime check out the stunning album track ‘Down The Drain’ video below, and feel contented that there is a band out there making music that sounds as good as this. Also check the official website for a video intro and lots of other Chickenfoot-goodness.
