KISS are teaming up with social media company Eventful to allow fans the chance to vote for where they want the icons to play on their upcoming U.S and Canadian tour this September.

This is the first time that a band have ever allowed fans to dictate their tour dates, with everything from the size and location of the venues being left up to the fans. The announcement will be made later today via an official video from the band, at 8pm GMT/3pm EST from kissonline.com. Straight after the annoucement fans will be able to go to eventful.com/KISS and cast their vote to have their town included on KISS‘s 2009 North America tour.

Fans will be able to track their current tally of votes and check which cities are leading from the website, along with KISS’s official website, Facebook and MySpace. Voters will also have the opportunity to post online videos, appealing for their town’s residents to vote vote vote! The best of these viral videos will be showcased at concerts on huge-screens before each gig.

Speaking to Blabbermouth.net, Paul Stanley said: “No band has ever given their fans the power to decide what cities they play, and no fans deserve it more than ours. We’re leaving the next U.S. and Canadian tour up to the Army. When they stand up, they will be counted!”

Just for casting a vote, KISS fans will be given the chance to purchase pre-sale tickets to the shows before they go on general sale.

Proving that KISS have and always will be the fan’s band, Gene Simmons added:  “KISS has never listened to critics-we have always listened only to the fans. It’s time to give back to the fans with bigger shows and longer set lists. And for the first time anywhere, we want our fans to tell us where they want us, and when.”U.S and Canada residents- will you be casting your vote? We’re very hopeful that this promotion will continue for the band’s future European tours and that the rest of the world will get to vote for KISS to play in their local towns, villages, living rooms…
