Taking Back Sunday Stream ‘New Again’ In Full

tbs

If you can’t wait the full five days before ‘New Again’ is released to the world, then Taking Back Sunday have you covered. The Long Island quintet are streaming their fourth studio album in full on their Official Myspace Page, so get ahead of the curve and be one of the first tohave a listen.

In other news,TBS have also been added to the envious bill of bands set to support Blink 182 on their mammouth tour of the US this summer, full dates can be found HERE.

What are your thoughts on ‘New Again’, on first listen we’re definitely not disappointed, ‘Everything Must Go’ has been a stand out from the start and has single written all over it. It’s certainly a progression from ‘Louder Now’ and fans wanting the bands to go back to the sounds of album one and two will probably be disappointed, for the rest of the world it seems like TBS have given us another catchy as hell album with a few surprises.

You Me At Six Butcher Fall Out Boy Song

UK sickly-sweet popstars You Me At Six have attempted to cover Fall Out Boy’s hugely popular single ‘Sugar We’re Goin’ Down’ from 2005′s ‘From Under The Cork Tree’.

You can hear the god-awful b-side on their upcoming single ‘Finders Keepers’, or if you don’t want to waste your hard earned cash you can listen above. To be completely biased, it sounds like a disaster, but coming from someone who thinks the world’s obsession with the ‘band’ is a farce in itself they were never going to win us over. I think it’s his voice to be honest.

If anyone wants to protest and tell us what you see in them then feel free. What do you think of the cover? Good or shite?

The couple, who announced plans to have a baby late in 2008 left it up to our good old friend the internet to break the happy news. BLUE BEAR – TRUE TIGER REMIXhttp://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid17823878001?bctid=24014430001

‘A Local label to us and good mates who we thought could give Juggers a tidy dubstep mix; and that’s exactly what they’ve done! They’ve kept the feel good vibe of the track which isn’t really heard much in the dubstep world but I think it really works and sounds gorgeous.’

NERO REMIX: http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid13590588001?bctid=24014432001

‘We’ve always really looked up to Nero as drum and bass producers, and felt they could do a great job with Juggers. He really accentuates the euphoria of the tune and rivals any big dance floor club banger with this!’

Blink 182 To Tour With Fall Out Boy and Weezer!

blink1
Recently reformed Pop-punk heroes, Blink 182 have finally answered fan’s prayers and announced their plans for a massive July tour across America.

Mark Hoppus announced that the mammouth tour will take them through the States from July 24th all the way until October, taking some famous friends on the road with them aswell. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Hoppus said: We started talking about bands to tour with and Weezer was actually one of the first ones that came up. They wanted to do the tour, and so did Fall Out Boy. It worked out perfectly.”

Unfortunately those hoping to watch the trio performing on the same stage will be out of luck, as Fall Out Boy have signed on for two-thirds of the dates, with Weezer filling the remaining third.

It’s no secret that Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz is friends with the Blink boys, speaking to RS he said: “When we started our band, we were like, ‘Man, that’d be so awesome to meet Blink-182′. It’s been a great stretch of headlining tours the last few years, but there’s something interesting about opening up for bands when you have to rope the audience in.”

Attempting to cater to a credit-crunch plagued audience, Blink have also announced that tickets will be as low as $20 for the arenas. “We want this to be an experience that brings the show out to the audience.” Hoppus commented, also revealing that Kanye West and Daft Punk‘s set designer will be incorporated into creating the live show.

No word yet on if and when they will tour the rest of the world, but a full list of tour dates have now been posted. Check them out plus details on the full set of all-star supports RIGHT HERE. Would you see the Blink/Fall Out Boy/Weezer show if it pulled into your town?

Children Of Bodom Officially Leave Lamb Of God Tour

children_of_bodom_001
Finland’s Children Of Bodom have officially departed from the “No Fear Energy Tour” with Lamb Of God, As I Lay Dying, Municipal Waste and God Forbid.

Frontman Alexi Laiho broke his shoulder last month when the tourbus took an irregularly sharp turn, causing the singer to fall from his bunk. Doctors today ordered Laiho to refrain from performing to avoid causing permanent damage, Bodom soundman Kal “K-Man” Kreacher posted on his Twitter account confirming the news: “Going home. Sorry. Doctor said [Alexi] should not play. It is better than fucking himself up for good. Three-week break; all should be good then.”

The dates that Children Of Bodom will have to miss are as follows:

Affected dates are as follows:

May 09 – Philadelphia, PA – The Electric Factory
May 11 – Baltimore, MD – Rams Head Live
May 12 – Boston, MA – House Of Blues
May 13 – Albany, NY – Washington St. Armory
May 14 – Richmond, VA – The National
May 15 – Myrtle Beach, SC – House Of Blues

The band performed a shortened three-song set last night (Friday 8th) in New York, having to say farewell only a fraction into their set due to Alexi’s shoulder giving in.

It’s a shame for the dates affected, hopefully Alexi will be good as new in a few weeks, wishing him a speedy recovery!|

Spinal Tap Self-Confim For Glastonbury

spinal_tap

Spinal Tap have self-confirmed that they will be playing Glastonbury Festival this year, surprising fans who may have expected a perhaps more-fitting Download appearance.

In an interview with Philadelphia Daily News Christopher Guest, better known as lead guitarist Nigel Tufnel in the ‘This Is Spinal Tap’ rockumentary, said: “We originally thought about doing a full-blown “Tap” tour this year to mark the 25th anniversary of the film’s release. But that would have been a very big deal in terms of show production, requiring a lot of effects, two 18-wheelers full of equipment, a tour bus.

“To be honest, we couldn’t get that together. But we will do a couple of “Tap” shows in Britain, at Wembley Arena and the Glastonbury Festival.”

The band will join headliners Blur, Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young at the already sold-out festival taking place on the 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th June this year.

Frank Turner: “Industry Politics Made Me Cancel Sonisphere Show”

In an exclusive interview with FANCORE, Frank Turner has revealed that the reason he has pulled out of his Sonisphere Festival appearance in the UK is due to “Industry politics”.

Despite the folk/punk singer only being announced for the festival less than a month ago his departure from the bill has been mysteriously quiet. As previously reported, the news was broken with Frank’s name being stricken from the official line-up poster and a rather ambiguous messgae was posted above Turner’s name on the Sonisphere website, reading: “Unfortunately Frank Turner has had to pull out of Sonisphere due to circumstances beyond our control.”

Speaking to FANCORE, Frank has shed a little more light on the situation, saying: Oh, It’s just industry politics. I’m not 100% sure what I’m allowed to say about this, but basically there was an ego piss-war between some industry big-wigs, and I took the fallout. It sucks. Not much I can do about it though.”

Any ideas on who the ‘industry big-wigs’ could be? Regardless of whoever caused the mess, you can catch the UK singer/guitarist either on the road with The Offspring or see him on home soil when he returns later in the year. In Sonisphere news, the festival has just announced third stage details, to be headlined by Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and Shawn ‘The Clown’ Crahan’s band ‘Dirty Little Rabbits’. The have also announced a cinema, extreme sports shows and a plethora of other entertaining events to keep you busy before Metallica. Read all about it HERE.

Check out the rest of Frank Turner’s interview in the first print issue of FANCORE, coming to you at the end of the month.

Watch Gerard Way In New Music Video

My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way makes an appearance in the video for Japanese Rock Legend Kyosuke Himuro’s new song ‘Safe and Sound’.

The track featuring the New Jersey native was discovered as a surprise online last month, with no mention of the collaboration from Himuro or Way. It is set to be featured on the alternative ending of Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete, when it is rereleased this month. The video features Gerard singing a verse and chorus and being shown onscreen more than the entire backing band put together. You can download the song as of now from the Itunes store.

In other My Chemical Romance news, the band have announced that they will be playing Japan’s Summer Sonic festival this summer, alongside Linkin Park. MCR have also posted photos of themselves on their official website, showing them working in the studio. The band are currently working on their fourth studio album and the follow-up to 2006′s critically-acclaimed ‘The Black Parade’, rumoured to be released before the end of the year.

Sonisphere Announce Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and Third Stage Details

sonisphere-new-lineup
Sonisphere have unveiled a brand new third stage for the Knebworth-based festival, boasting debut UK performances from Slipknot members, a batch of new bands, a comedy stage and even a cinema.

‘Bohemia Village’ will be open on Thursday afternoon, available to all Sonisphere ticket holders and continuing into the wee hours of the morning. The third stage will be headlined by Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, aswell as ‘Knot Clown Shawn Crahan’s side project, Dirty Little Rabbits. More bands confirmed for Bohemia include Cancer Bats, Attack! Attack!, Rolo Tomassi, The Ataris and The Chapman Family.

Sonisphere have confirmed that all acts on the third stage will not conflict musically with any bands playing on the main stages, meaning you can squeeze in Corey Taylor before watching Metallica headline. Aswell as the new acts, Sonisphere have announced that Bohemia will include a ‘fairground of the damned’, a cinema playing ‘rock-friendly films’ aswell as a Jagermeister Rock Karaoke. If that wasn’t enough, throughout the day the village will host the Monster Energy Drink Ball Of Steel Stunt Show featuring motorcycle freestyling and if extreme sports isn’t your bag a plethora of comedy acts have been added to keep you laughing your hangover off.

Bohemia will also house the previously mentioned Guitar Hero: Metallica Experience which will give all you wannabes a chance to perform on Sonisphere’s main stage and emulate Metal monsters James, Kirk, Lars and Rob (and Jason Newsted).

Speaking to the official website, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor said he is “very excited to be a part of this festival. It’ll be the first show of its kind I’ve ever done in the UK, and I think there are many fans who’ve waited long enough to see it.”

The planners are definitely attempting to make Sonisphere more than just a bunch of bands on a stage, has this ‘Moulin Rouge meets Mad Max’ type extravaganza lured you into getting a ticket?
